What you are reading Future Tempo collects weather and climate reporting about Japan and explains it in plain English. By reading the site you accept these terms. They are longer than they used to be, because weather information carries more responsibility than most.

Not an official warning service Our summaries are not forecasts issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency and they are not warnings. When a heavy-rain, typhoon, landslide or heatstroke alert is in force, follow the JMA, NHK and your city or town office.
Evacuation decisions should never rest on a clipping from this site, however recent it looks.

Timing Pages are refreshed every weekday by 7:00 JST, with typhoon updates every six hours during active storms. The atmosphere moves faster than any zine, so check the time stamp on a clipping and the source it links to before planning a hike, a harvest or a commute.

Credits and ownership Observation data and model output belong to the agencies that produce them, and articles we link to belong to their publishers. Our headlines, summaries and page layouts are Future Tempo's.
You may quote a summary with a credit and a link. Copying clippings wholesale into another site, app or dataset needs our written permission.

External links Every card leads off-site. We choose sources we trust, but we cannot vouch for pages we do not run, and a story may change or disappear after we pin it up.

Corrections If a figure is wrong or a credit line is missing, write to editorial@future-tempo.com with the page and the specific problem. We check it against the source data, reply within two business days and note corrections at the top of the page with a date.

Liability As far as Japanese law allows, Future Tempo is not responsible for losses caused by relying on a summary instead of an official forecast, by changes in the weather after publication, or by third-party sites. This does not limit liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes and governing law We may update these terms; the version pressed on the date above is the one in force. They are governed by Japanese law, and the Osaka District Court has exclusive jurisdiction at first instance.

Heat and health Summer pages often mention heat. Anything we write about heatstroke is general information, not medical advice. When a Heatstroke Alert is issued by the Ministry of the Environment and the JMA, follow it, and seek medical help for symptoms rather than looking for the answer here.

Clippings in class or at work Schools, farming co-operatives and hiking clubs are welcome to print or share individual clippings internally, as long as the credit line and source link stay visible. Anything beyond that, such as a newsletter, a product or a paid service, needs our written permission first.

Acceptable use Please do not scrape the site with aggressive automated requests, attempt to break into it, or present its pages as another service's forecast. Feed readers and search engines are welcome.

Historical comparisons When a clipping compares today's weather with the past, it leans on JMA records, some of which reach back to the 1890s. Station moves and changes in instruments mean old and new figures are not always directly comparable, and we say so when the difference matters to the story.
